DeFiLlama's crypto media outlet DL News has announced it will shut down at the end of May.

CoinFeed reported on May 8th that crypto media outlet DL News has announced its impending closure. DL News stated that it launched in 2022 as the news arm of DeFiLlama, and while it was intended to be a profitable business, this goal was not achieved. DL News indicated that a major internal conflict within DeFiLlama in early 2023 led to its de facto separation from the parent company, although it retained its name and brand. Simultaneously, the media landscape deteriorated sharply, making the traditional subscription model unsustainable. DL Research, the research arm launched in 2024, achieved 270% revenue growth in 2025, exceeding seven-figure annual sales, with clients including several leading crypto companies.
