Amazon, in partnership with Coinbase and Stripe, launched an AI-powered agent payment infrastructure.

CoinFeed reported on May 8th that, according to CoinDesk, Amazon's AWS has partnered with Coinbase and Stripe to launch Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Payments, an AI-powered agent payment infrastructure. This allows autonomous AI agents to use stablecoins to purchase online services such as APIs and web content in real time. Future versions will support larger transactions such as hotel bookings, travel bookings, and merchant payments. The system is built on Coinbase's x402 protocol and Stripe's Privy wallet, initially focusing on micropayment scenarios. AWS states that this is infrastructure built for the "agent economy." Brian Foster, Coinbase's head of infrastructure growth, predicts that AI agents will soon surpass human transaction volumes.
