Andre Cronje: Stablecoin yields on Sonic reach 5.11%, DeFi is far from its peak.

CoinFeed reported on May 9th that Andre Cronje stated on X that Flying Tulip's stablecoin ftUSD currently offers an annualized yield of approximately 5.11% on the Sonic blockchain (USDC) and approximately 5.27% on Ethereum (USDT). Neither yield relies on platform token incentives, subsidies, "points," revolving lending, or leverage mechanisms, and there are no unlocking periods or exit queues, supporting instant redemption and liquidity. Cronje stated that this type of "pure yield" stablecoin product demonstrates that DeFi still has significant room for innovation and exploration.
