CoinFeed reported on May 10th, citing Fortune, that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared his insights at the Sequoia Capital AI Summit, revealing significant generational differences in how users of ChatGPT utilize the app. He stated that older users primarily use ChatGPT as a Google search engine alternative, those in their twenties and thirties use it as a life consultant, while college students use it extensively as an everyday operating system. Over one-third of 18- to 24-year-olds in the US frequently use ChatGPT, leveraging its conversation memory function for emotional advice, workplace negotiations, medical consultations, and even major life decisions. Sequoia Capital invested in OpenAI in its first round of funding in 2021, valuing it at $140 billion at the time; after significant private equity funding, its current valuation has reached $852 billion.
