The incident stemmed from a historical vulnerability in an older version of its smart contract, deployed on TRON in its early days and deprecated in 2022. This vulnerability was exploited and affected a small number of users. The team stated that they urgently investigated, isolated, and fixed the issue after discovering it, and conducted further auditing and rectification on May 12th. The currently used contract version is unaffected and has been running securely for over four years, continuously undergoing security audits and monitoring. Transit stated that affected users will receive full compensation, with specific details to be announced through official channels. They also reminded users to be wary of fake official messages and not to disclose their private keys or mnemonic phrases.
