CoinFeed reported on May 14 that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued a no-action letter, stating that it will not recommend enforcement action against designated contract markets, derivatives clearing organizations, and their participants for failing to comply with record-keeping requirements related to swaps, or for failing to report data related to fully collateralized event contract transactions to the swap data repository. This position is in response to requests from several designated contract markets and derivatives clearing organizations that list and clear event contracts. The relevant departments plan to streamline the approval process and ensure consistent treatment of market participants through this move. Previous no-action letters regarding data reporting for similar contracts remain applicable to all beneficiaries. Entities wishing to list or clear similar contracts can apply for the same no-action position, which, upon approval, will be added to the no-action letter appendix.
