CoinFeed reported on May 14th that, according to CoinDesk, the US Senate is expected to conduct a clause-by-clause review of the Clarity Act, a digital asset bill, on May 14th. The latest draft bill proposes to prohibit stablecoin balances from paying interest, impose fines of up to $5 million on violations, and place the US Treasury Department on par with the SEC and CFTC as a rule-making body. Despite high market attention and over 100 amendments already submitted, the Bitcoin options market has not yet significantly priced in event risk. Block Scholes data shows that the implied volatility of short-term BTC options has fallen to around 30%, close to its low for the year. Sygnum Bank investment strategist Can-Luca Köymen stated that as the regulatory framework progresses, Bitcoin's status as a strategic asset allocation is strengthening.
