CoinFeed reported on May 14th, citing Reuters, that the US has approved approximately 10 Chinese companies to purchase Nvidia's H200 AI chips. Approved companies include Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance, and JD.com, with distributors such as Lenovo and Foxconn also authorized. Under the licensing terms, each approved customer can purchase up to 75,000 H200 chips, but no actual deliveries have yet occurred. The report states that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang accompanied US President Trump on a visit to Beijing this week, hoping to push for a breakthrough in H200 sales to China. However, due to regulatory restrictions from both the US and China, and China's efforts to strengthen its domestic AI chip self-sufficiency, the relevant transactions remain stalled.
