Apple will introduce a standalone Siri chat app and enhance privacy controls in iOS 27.

CoinFeed reported on May 18th, citing Bloomberg, that Apple plans to launch a new standalone Siri chat app in iOS 27, introducing privacy features such as automatic deletion of chat history. Users can choose in settings to save Siri conversations for 30 days, 1 year, or permanently, similar to iMessage's retention options. The new Siri will adopt "Apple Foundation Models" and extensively integrate with Google Gemini and parts of Google Cloud infrastructure to enhance generative AI capabilities. Apple continues to claim that it maintains its privacy advantage through Private Cloud Compute and limits the types of data and duration of persistent data stored in the Siri memory system.
