GitHub: Investigating unauthorized access to internal GitHub repositories

CoinFeed reported on May 20th that GitHub announced on its X platform that it is investigating an incident of unauthorized access to internal GitHub repositories. Currently, there is no evidence that customer information stored outside of internal repositories (such as customer company, organization, and repository information) has been affected, but the platform is closely monitoring its infrastructure as a precaution against further activity. GitHub stated that if any user data or service disruptions are subsequently confirmed, customers will be notified through existing incident response and notification channels.
