Approximately 1,400 Bitcoin mining machines stealing electricity were seized in São Paulo state, Brazil.

CoinFeed reported on May 23 that, according to Livecoins, the São Paulo State Property Crime Investigation Department (DEIC) and the power company CPFL Piratininga jointly seized approximately 1,400 Bitcoin mining rigs suspected of operating while stealing electricity. It is estimated that the stolen electricity is enough to power about 2,000 households for a month. Although Bitcoin mining is not illegal in Brazil, the CPFL and DEIC operation focused on the electricity theft.
