Musk: The Grok V9-Medium model with 1.5 trillion parameters is expected to be released in two to three weeks.

CoinFeed reported on May 25th that Elon Musk posted that xAI has completed training of the Grok foundation model V9-Medium (1.5T parameters) and is currently fine-tuning it. Reinforcement learning will begin within days, and it is expected to be available to the public in 2-3 weeks. Compared to the current 0.5T V8-small model that serves all Grok online traffic, the new model will have a "significant improvement" in complex programming tasks. He also stated that the existing 0.5T model is planned to be open-sourced by the end of this year and is expected to remain practically valuable. This training iteration incorporated a large amount of Cursor-related data, and more will be added subsequently.
