Base blockchain launches MCP gateway, supporting on-chain operations via AI interfaces such as Claude and ChatGPT.

CoinFeed reported on May 27th that, according to The Block, Base, the Ethereum Layer 2 network incubated by Coinbase, has released the MCP gateway, enabling secure connections between AI interfaces such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor and the Base wallet infrastructure. Users can now perform token exchanges, transfers, and interactions with Base ecosystem applications via natural language commands. Base MCP is based on Anthropic's first standardized open protocol, MCP, and will connect to applications such as Morpho, Bankr, Moonwell, Avantis, Aerodrome, Virtuals, and Uniswap upon launch, covering lending, exchanges, perpetual contracts, and the latest token and proxy releases on Base.
