CoinFeed reported on May 28 that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy Public Relations Department announced that control over the Strait of Hormuz remains fully implemented. In the past 24 hours, 26 merchant ships and oil tankers have passed through the Strait of Hormuz after obtaining Iranian permission and coordination. The statement noted that permission and coordination are required to pass through the Strait of Hormuz; taking other routes is considered disruptive and will be dealt with according to regulations. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that last night, several vessels attempted to enter the Persian Gulf without authorization by tampering with and disabling their navigation systems. After multiple radio warnings, Revolutionary Guard Navy forces intercepted two of the vessels on the spot, and the remaining vessels were forced to return to port. The statement also indicated that US forces in the region violated the ceasefire agreement by firing several missiles into an open area near Bandar Abbas Airport, causing no damage. In response, a retaliatory strike was launched against the US base from which the attack originated. The statement warned that if such actions occur again, the US military will face a severe response.
