CoinFeed reported on May 29th that, according to an official announcement from Sui Network, the Sui mainnet has resumed normal operation, with transaction processing and network activity restored. The official announcement disclosed that both network outages, including the one that occurred the previous day, were related to an interaction issue between the "Address Balances" function and the Gas billing logic introduced in the 1.72 version upgrade. The Sui core team stated that the fix deployed yesterday was only a temporary measure designed to quickly restore network operation, but it carried a known and low-probability outage risk. Today, the network triggered a variant of this known issue, causing the mainnet to pause again. Currently, validators have completed the deployment of a long-term fix, and the official statement claims that the known issue caused by the original vulnerability has been completely resolved, and the network has returned to normal operation.
