However, several well-known American musicians have recently announced their withdrawal from the event due to concerns about being drawn into political disputes. On May 30, U.S. President Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the artists' withdrawals, stating that he planned to hold a political rally with a speech by himself as the "opening show" for the series of celebrations. According to reports from the Associated Press and other foreign media outlets, five of the nine previously announced performers have withdrawn, including Brett Michaels, lead singer of the American rock band, and Martina McBride, a country singer.
