CoinFeed reported on June 11 that, according to Cointelegraph, Delaware and New Jersey have moved forward with bills banning cryptocurrency ATMs. The Delaware House Economics Committee has submitted Bill HB441 to the full House for consideration, and the New Jersey Senate Commerce Committee unanimously passed the ban. Previously, Indiana, Tennessee, and Minnesota had already completely banned cryptocurrency ATMs. The Delaware bill's sponsor stated that cryptocurrency ATMs charge up to 20% of the transaction amount, far exceeding the 0.4%-1% fees charged by online exchanges, and there is no justification for supporting such a fraudulent business structure. The bill requires existing cryptocurrency ATMs to be removed within 90 days of the law's signing, with penalties of up to $10,000 for violations. The New Jersey bill imposes penalties of up to $10,000 for the first violation, doubling to $20,000 for subsequent violations.
