The G7 plans to include AI risks separately in a joint statement, focusing on financial system and security reviews.
CoinFeed reported on June 15th that, according to Bloomberg, the draft joint statement from the G7 leaders' meeting in Evian will emphasize "further discussion on the emerging opportunities and potential risks posed by AI," particularly in the financial sector, and call for strengthened coordination among members. The draft mentions that the US government has invoked special powers, in response to security threats, to require Anthropic to ban all foreign users from accessing its state-of-the-art model, Fable 5, in order to address the risk of the model being "jailbroken" to bypass security safeguards. The draft also states that member states will continue to advance preparedness and response efforts for the financial system regarding the risks and opportunities related to quantum technology.
