CoinFeed reported on June 16th that, according to Bloomberg, African fintech company Flutterwave has sold a portion of its stake to blockchain company Ripple, raising Flutterwave's latest valuation to approximately $3.3 billion. Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola did not disclose the specific amount raised or Ripple's shareholding percentage, only stating that the company received a cash injection and deeper access to African payment infrastructure. Ripple provides crypto payment solutions in over 90 countries and has recently partnered with companies such as South Africa's Absa Bank and Chipper Cash; Flutterwave operates in 35 African countries and launched a stablecoin-based payment service last year.
