CoinFeed reported on June 16th that, according to TechCrunch, Sensor Tower's latest "State of AI 2026" report shows that ChatGPT still holds the top spot in monthly active users among global AI assistant apps (approximately 1.1 billion), but its market share fell below 50% for the first time at the end of May this year, dropping to 46.4%. Google Gemini's share rose to 27.7%, Anthropic Claude rose to 10.3%, and Grok, Perplexity, DeepSeek, and Meta AI all had individual shares below 5%. The report points out that OpenAI's signing of an agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) triggered a surge in uninstalls, indicating that brand values influence user choices.
