France to Stop Certifying Products Without Quantum-Safe Encryption
CoinFeed June 18 news, according to Reuters, the French cybersecurity agency ANSSI said on Tuesday that it will stop certifying security products lacking quantum-resistant encryption from 2027, and recommends that enterprises only purchase quantum-safe products by 2030. ANSSI certification is mandatory for French government agencies and critical infrastructure operators, a move that will effectively phase out old encryption systems. ANSSI official Samih Souissi said this is not just a technical issue, but also involves governance, industrial planning, regulation, and sovereignty. This policy adjustment also aims to prevent 'harvest now, decrypt later' attacks—attackers may store encrypted data now and decrypt it once future quantum computers become powerful enough.
