Aztec Labs: Attacked product was a payment product abandoned four years ago, no longer under control

CoinFeed June 18 news, Aztec Labs posted on X platform stating that the team is investigating a potential vulnerability that may affect the Aztec payment product abandoned in 2021, with approximately $2 million transferred from immutable smart contracts. The abandoned product is the immutable Stage 2 Rollup version discontinued in 2022. Aztec Labs does not hold admin keys or any control over the system and cannot pause or upgrade it. This incident is independent of the Aztec Connect product attack on June 14. Additionally, the Aztec Foundation stated that the attacked product has no connection to the current network or any smart contracts of the AZTEC ERC20 token.
