CoinFeed June 19 news, according to The Block, CryptoQuant Head of Research Julio Moreno stated that Bitcoin transactions below 0.01 BTC currently account for about 80% of all daily transactions, up from about 44% in 2023. This surge is driven by OP_RETURN-based on-chain data protocols such as Runes, Ordinals, BRC-20, and data timestamping services. These protocols generate a large number of extremely small transactions, some as low as 546 satoshis (currently worth about $0.35), directly leading to an increase in low-value transfers. Overall, the Bitcoin network activity index has been steadily rising since January and has reached its highest level since the end of 2024.
