Texas Brothers Plead Guilty in Armed Kidnapping Case Involving Over $8 Million in Crypto 'Wrench Attack'

CoinFeed June 19 news, according to Decrypt, two brothers from Texas, Isiah Garcia and Raymond Garcia, recently pleaded guilty in Minneapolis federal court to breaking into a home in Grant, Minnesota, in September 2025, holding a family hostage for eight hours at gunpoint, and forcing the homeowner to transfer over $8 million in cryptocurrency. During the incident, the suspects also escorted the victim to their northern cabin to retrieve additional cold wallets for further transfers. After the victim's son called the police, the FBI tracked the suspects to the Houston area using evidence left at the scene and arrested them. Both face up to 20 years in federal prison and have agreed to pay over $8 million in restitution.
