CoinFeed June 22 news, according to Reuters, Google, Meta, TikTok, Alibaba and other tech companies as well as multiple crypto firms pledged on Monday to help combat illegal wildlife trade, using AI detection and other methods to identify and remove illegal wildlife product transaction information on their platforms. These companies represent one-fifth of the global e-commerce market and 90% of global social media users. Companies like Vodafone will use AI for anti-money laundering and transaction monitoring on the M-Pesa mobile payment platform. Crypto and payment companies including PayPal, TRM Labs, Chainalysis, and Luno pledged to cut off related financial flows. A United Nations report states that wildlife trade generates annual revenue of $23 billion, with about 1 million species facing the threat of extinction.
