French Crypto Platform Paymium Obtains EU MiCA License from AMF
CoinFeed June 24 news, according to Le Figaro, French crypto platform Paymium announced it has obtained the official EU MiCA license from the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF), allowing it to continue offering crypto asset trading services in the EU after the new regulations take effect. Founded in 2011, the company claims to be the only platform operating a crypto asset exchange in France, with over 230,000 global clients, including individuals and institutions. The report notes that MiCA will fully come into force by the end of 2024, and platforms that have not obtained authorization from their national regulators by June 30 will be forced to cease operations. To date, only about 20 companies in France have been approved, around 50 have not yet submitted applications, and approximately 200 companies across Europe have been certified.
