Ripple Stablecoin RLUSD Launched in Japan and Approved by Japan's Financial Services Agency

RLUSD is classified as a new type of electronic payment instrument under Japan's Payment Services Act, designed to meet the security and regulatory standards for foreign-issued stablecoins. Ripple's Senior Vice President of Stablecoins, Jack McDonald, stated that this launch is an important step in expanding access to regulated US dollar stablecoins for Japanese financial institutions and enterprises, and RLUSD will serve as a bridge for payments, tokenization, and collateral management.
