Supreme People's Procuratorate Announces Major Drug-Related Money Laundering Case: Li Moubo Sentenced to Death for Laundering Over 48 Million Yuan via Virtual Currency

SPP Deputy Prosecutor General Miao Shengming introduced that procuratorial organs have deeply investigated and thoroughly probed 'self-money laundering' and 'other-entity money laundering' crimes, vigorously promoted the recovery of drug-related assets, and ensured full coverage of investigation into drug-related money laundering crimes. From January last year to May this year, over 1,200 people were prosecuted for drug-related money laundering crimes. In a major cross-border drug smuggling, trafficking, transport, and money laundering case supervised by the SPP and handled by Chongqing procuratorial organs involving Li Moubo and others, Li Moubo laundered over 48 million yuan through virtual currency and was sentenced to death in accordance with the law for multiple crimes.
