Strait of Hormuz traffic recovers to nearly 60% of pre-war levels
CoinFeed June 25 news, according to Xinhua News Agency, S&P Global Energy reported that on the 24th, a total of 78 vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz, setting a new single-day record since the outbreak of the Iran conflict. This month's daily average traffic has recovered to about 57% of pre-conflict levels, with a cumulative 551 vessels passing through, potentially making it the highest traffic month since the conflict began. The vessels include those previously stranded due to the conflict as well as recent inbound and outbound ships, indicating preliminary normalization of shipping activity. The rebound is linked to Oman and the International Maritime Organization's activation of a new southern route; on the 24th, 33 vessels used this route. However, Iran requires ships to use only its approved northern route, with passage authorized by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, adding fresh uncertainty to the situation.
