Chainalysis Launches Draft Blockchain Tracking Standard
CoinFeed reported on June 29, citing CoinDesk, that blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has released a blockchain tracking ontology proposal, aiming to establish an industry standard for on-chain address clustering and tracking. The document breaks down the 'cluster' concept into finer structures such as 'wallet fragments' and proposes a two-layer framework: the first layer constructs an address relationship graph, and the second layer annotates analytical credibility, assisting law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies in determining whether data can be used in casework. Chainalysis draws on its practical experience from the U.S. Department of Justice's money laundering case against Roman Sterlingov, co-founder of mixing service Bitcoin Fog, where the judge ruled after a Daubert hearing that its Reactor tool is 'highly reliable'.
