StarkWare Releases Starknet Quantum-Resistance Roadmap, Calling It the 'Strongest Quantum Encryption Scheme'
CoinFeed June 30 news, according to The Block, StarkWare has announced a three-phase post-quantum security roadmap for Starknet, aiming to complete the network's quantum-hardening transformation within months. The plan, based on Starknet's existing hash-dependent STARK zero-knowledge proof architecture, intends to first replace Pedersen hash with BLAKE2 in state commitments, contract addresses, and network configuration, and introduce post-quantum signatures like Falcon-512 to enhance consensus security. The second phase will provide migration tools for old contracts, while the third phase addresses external dependencies related to Ethereum, such as bridge syscalls and blob data availability, with its quantum security relying on Ethereum's own transition progress.
