CoinFeed July 1 news, according to Bloomberg, after Anthropic reached an agreement with the U.S. government, the external access restrictions on its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models were lifted, but the specific agreements on safety standards and technical changes were not disclosed. Previously, the ban stemmed from Amazon's feedback to the U.S. government that Fable's safety protections could be bypassed. Subsequently, Anthropic, with support from the CAISI under the U.S. Department of Commerce, patched related flaws and agreed to deepen cooperation with CAISI, providing computing power and its security team to participate in testing. The report noted that this export control case reached through private communications and closed-door negotiations lacks transparency, making it difficult for companies to predict under what standards they might face re-blocking in the future.
