Bitwise CEO: STRC volatility signals end of cycle, bottom may be near
CoinFeed July 2 news, Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan said that the volatility of STRC is a typical phenomenon at the end of the crypto cycle, and the market is approaching a bottom. The essence of STRC is to allocate funds expecting high returns and low volatility to Bitcoin—but Bitcoin lacks both attributes. This mismatched capital needs to be cleaned out of the system before a bottom can emerge. Hougan believes that Strategy's role in the Bitcoin market has shifted from a one-way buyer to a participant that can trade flexibly based on market conditions. Institutional investors will take its place; global banks, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, etc. are gradually entering, with signs already emerging such as Morgan Stanley launching a proprietary Bitcoin ETF and Wells Fargo incorporating Bitcoin into model portfolios.
