Cosmos Co-CEO: dYdX's Pivot to RWA Has No Material Impact on ATOM, Will Continue Focusing on Hub Ecosystem
CoinFeed July 3 news, Cosmos Labs co-CEO Barry commented on dYdX's partnership with Robinhood to enter RWA. He stated that dYdX proved the model of running an exchange fully on-chain is viable, but dYdX itself has been struggling for some time, facing the rise of next-generation perpetual contract competitors like Hyperliquid and Lighter, the overall decline of DeFi, and threats from Web 2.5 such as Kalshi. Partnering with Robinhood, which has distribution capabilities, to enter RWA is a reasonable bet to turn things around. Regarding the impact on ATOM, Barry said the dYdX Chain has always been an independent chain; although it uses the Cosmos tech stack, its fees, security, and value accrual have no material impact on ATOM, and the ATOM community did not pay for the dYdX migration.
