Alibaba Internally Bans Claude Code Due to Backdoor Implantation Risk

CoinFeed July 3 news, according to The Paper report, a reporter learned from an Alibaba insider that, due to recent security risks of implanted backdoors in Claude Code, Alibaba has listed it as high-risk software after comprehensive assessment. Starting July 10, Alibaba will fully ban internal employees from using Claude Code in work environments, and recommends Qoder as an alternative. Public information shows that Claude Code is an intelligent programming tool launched by AI startup Anthropic in February 2025. Recently, Anthropic was exposed to have embedded 'invisible code' in Claude Code starting from version 2.1.91. If users have enabled network proxy, Claude Code secretly transmits location and other information by making invisible modifications to the system prompt.
