Vitalik Releases Ethereum 'Lite' Roadmap, Upgrades to Roll Out Over Next Three to Four Years

Vitalik noted that the 'Lite Ethereum' is not a one-time upgrade, but a collection of a series of improvements that will be rolled out on the Ethereum network over the next three to four years. This is the third major iteration of Ethereum, just as the Merge was the second iteration. Almost all major parts of the protocol will be replaced. The main content is as follows: Verification mechanism: Replace direct re-execution with recursive STARKs. Quantum security: Replace all components vulnerable to quantum attacks with quantum-safe alternatives. Consensus mechanism: Decouple availability chain and finality, adopting one-round or two-round finality. Theoretically optimal security properties, simpler and faster than now.
