Sierra Leone, Bhutan, and SIGN Foundation to Collaborate on Building National Digital Identity Platform

(Bhutan NDI), and SIGN Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding to design, develop, and implement Sierra Leone's national digital identity platform. The platform leverages open-source technology and W3C-compliant verifiable credentials to enable citizens to securely prove and manage their identities while maintaining strict standards for privacy, security, and data sovereignty. In this collaboration, Sierra Leone's MoCTI will provide strategic leadership, policy formulation, and government agency coordination; Bhutan NDI will contribute proven national digital identity architecture experience and open-source identity frameworks; SIGN Foundation will handle system design, solution architecture, and technical implementation.
