Coinbase Obtains UK MiFID License, Can Offer Traditional Investment and Financing Services in the UK

CoinFeed, July 7 — According to an official blog post, Coinbase has been granted authorization for investment services in the UK (MiFID license). Its UK entity, building on its existing e-money license and cryptoasset business registration, can now offer institutional and advanced traders derivatives services including perpetuals on crypto, stocks, and commodities, and for the first time open stock trading to retail users. The license is part of its 'one-stop financial platform' strategy, which will also support stablecoin payments, savings, lending, and tokenized physical assets in the future.
