Kresus Launches Self-Custodial Wallet Crypto Asset Inheritance Service
July 9, 2026
CoinFeed News
CoinFeed reported on July 9 that, according to FinanceFeeds, self-custodial wallet company Kresus launched the "Kresus Inheritance" service, allowing users to set up inheritance plans for crypto assets without sharing private keys. Users pay a $99.99 annual subscription fee within the wallet, can pre-designate beneficiaries, and set a period of account inactivity, after which beneficiaries gain access. Kresus does not custody user assets throughout, with the inheritance mechanism based on MPC security and seed phrase backup-free features within the wallet. Kresus cited research stating that approximately 55 million adults in the US hold crypto assets, and 89% of investors are concerned about asset handling after death.
