Zuckerberg Denies Meta Has Excess Computing Power, Says Developing Cloud Business Has Commercial Potential
CoinFeed July 10 news, according to Sina Finance, Meta Platforms Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Meta needs as much computing power as possible. However, with the supply of computing power needed for AI development and operation in short supply, he is also considering whether renting out some of the AI infrastructure to external customers can create more value. Zuckerberg said in an interview: 'The market is bidding very high for computing power right now. In some cases, it might be more cost-effective to rent it out or consider similar deals rather than keep it for internal use.' Earlier this month, it was reported that Meta is planning to launch a cloud computing business, hoping to leverage its data centers and other computing partners to directly generate revenue. Zuckerberg said the opportunity to develop a cloud business 'always exists, as long as we want to do it, we can do it anytime.'
