OpenAI expected to stop development of standalone browser ChatGPT Atlas on August 9, functions merged into new desktop app

CoinFeed July 10 news, according to 9to5Mac report, OpenAI announced it will stop its standalone desktop browser ChatGPT Atlas, related functions will be integrated into the newly released ChatGPT desktop app. OpenAI stated that Atlas is expected to be officially discontinued on August 9, and migration guidance will be provided through in-app notifications and email. The new ChatGPT desktop app integrates ChatGPT Work agent and ChatGPT Codex, and has full browser capabilities, while OpenAI also provides a Chrome browser extension, making it convenient for users to call ChatGPT functions in the original browser.
