Meta Chief Data Officer: Agentic Commerce is the 'next tier of business'

Meta currently has over a million weekly active businesses using its commerce agents. Schultz used organizing a child's birthday party as an example to illustrate that agents can handle tasks like schedule coordination and venue searching, and believes this model can be extended to supply chain and cross-border commerce, with stablecoins being a key payment layer. Schultz pointed out that the U.S. reliance on iMessage is 'very backward,' while in Brazil and India, millions of small businesses already conduct commercial conversations through WhatsApp. He predicted that physical wallets will become obsolete, and stablecoins are 'an important part of the solution'.
