CoinFeed July 11th news, according to Jin10 citing Axios, the Trump administration demands Iran issue a public statement by Saturday at the latest, confirming the Strait of Hormuz remains open and committing to stop firing on commercial vessels. US officials said the demand has been conveyed to Iran through direct channels and regional mediators. The US believes that Iran’s recent attacks on commercial ships in and around the Strait of Hormuz violated a memorandum of understanding signed weeks ago between the two sides, putting the fragile ceasefire agreement at risk of collapse. Reports say Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi and Omani Foreign Minister Busaidi are expected to meet on Saturday in Muscat, the capital of Oman, to discuss the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. The US hopes that after this meeting, Iran will issue a public statement pledging to stop the attacks and confirming the strait’s shipping lanes are open and toll-free.
